This position often requires cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment as well as assembling and testing equipment,
ordering supplies, and reporting problems.

Jobs offer flexible scheduling. Sterile processing departments tend to work around the clock, which means that
schedules could be quite flexible—especially for a more experienced sterile processing technician.
MVCTC’s Program prepares students to become a Certified Registered Central Service Technician,(CRCST Certification).
Dawn Pennington, 2012 graduate, is employed at Miami Valley South. Dawn serves on the MVCTC Program Advisory Committee
and is a Preceptor for students in the Program during their Clinical Externship.
While not involved with direct patient care, this area offers the opportunity to provide vital support to all areas and
interact with personnel from all areas of the hospital. The CRCST Certification is accredited by
both the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
