Manufacturing and Logistics Programs at MVCTC
MVCTC offers short term training in Logistics and Manufacturing. Classes are held in partnership with Ohio Means Jobs.
Logistics classes are four weeks long and meet daily. The program includes certification in forklift-both standard sit down and stand up. In order to qualify for the program, students meet levels using ACT’s Workkeys and obtain the Silver National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). Students gain certification in the Manufacturing Skills Standard Council’s (MSSC) Certified Logistics Associate (CLA). Tours of local industries and presentations by area employers are included in the curriculum. Students practice interview techniques, complete resumes and model successful soft skills. Students who successfully complete are invited to a Job Fair.
The Manufacturing Program is six weeks in length and features the Manufacturing Skills Standard Council’s (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) Certifications. Students are certified in the following four areas: Safety, Quality, Measurement and Maintenance. In order to qualify to enter the Program, students meet levels for ACT WorkKeys Silver National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). An Introduction to MVCTC’s RAMTEC Robotics Program and Fabrication Lab are included in the curriculum. Additional features of the program involve tours of local industries and presentations by area employers. Dayton Regional Manufacturing Association and its members have supported the program. Students practice interview techniques, complete resumes and model successful soft skills. Manufacturing continues to grow in the region.
