MVCTC Alumni "Couple" Success Story - Kegan Cordes attended MVCTC in the Agriculture program and graduated in 2004. Victoria Cordes attended the Cosmetology program and graduated in 2008. Both are from Tri-County North.
Victoria earned her Cosmetology License in 2008. She shared, "My husband and I have successfully opened four Bear Naked Tanning locations building them from the ground up! Featuring over 67 high-end tanning beds, five spray tan units, two custom airbrush rooms, four red light therapy rooms, a hydration station steam pod, and two custom teeth whitening booths, we have made Bear Naked Tanning what it is today! We now have locations in Brookville (2017), Eaton (2019), New Paris (2021), and Springboro (2021), with more locations to come! Bear Naked is not a franchise, just a mom and dad who wanted to give our three young kids (7, 4, and 1) someone to look up to and show that hard work pays off, and if you put your mind to it and push really hard you can make anything happen!"
How did MCJVS/MVCTC help you to be successful?
"I truly believe for myself I would have never been able to go to cosmetology school without MVCTC! Mainly because I didn't want the student loans or that amount of debt put on me right out of high school! Being accepted into the Cosmetology program at MVCTC was one of the best days I can remember as a teenager! I'm thankful for my teacher Mrs.Millhouse for pushing me to stick with it and try my best. If it wasn't for MVCTC allowing us to co-op and work while attending school, I probably would have never worked as a tanning consultant on the side and found my love for helping people look and feel their very best daily! Not to mention all the relationships you build and really get to know your clients! My husband, who also attended MVCTC for agriculture, may not be doing what he went to MVCTC for; however, MVCTC instilled a lot of the business aspect and background work in him! We are both grateful for MVCTC and can't wait to see what all the future holds for our salons!"
