"MVCTC was one of the most influential driving forces in my career and personal development in high school. MVCTC allowed me to understand at an earlier age what I wanted to focus on in college. Because of this, I was able to skip [a good chunk of] the confusion in college trying to find a career (including but not limited to taking the wrong classes and switching majors until I found a suitable one) that would make me happy in life. When I went to college, I was ahead of most of the students I was in classes with as I had learned the programs the past two years at MVCTC. For this reason alone, I was extremely grateful for my time at MVCTC as the classes I had taken expected students to already have the knowledge of the programs or to learn as they went. Already having the knowledge of the programs allowed me to move more swiftly and efficiently through projects, as well as help my classmates, which in turn was a great refresh course for myself. I still use and build upon the skills I learned at MVCTC, more so than just academically. I was an officer for SkillsUSA as well as an Ambassador while at MVCTC and the social skills I developed carried me into and through college. I acquired my first two jobs on campus because of the roles I played at MVCTC, which in turn prompted me to my next two jobs through college. Now that I've graduated, I still appreciate my time at MVCTC and hope the current students appreciate the opportunities presented to them because for me at least, it was extremely helpful in my life process."
