I graduated from the Cosmetology program at Patterson Co-op. I am married to my husband Bob for 33 years in March. I have two sons, Bryan and Matthew (wife Ashley). I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and traveling.People ask me when I plan on retiring, and my answer is ‘I'm not ready yet, because I love what I do and the students teach me something every day and keep me young.’”
“My name is Mandy Turner, and I live in Eaton, Ohio. I have been a licensed Cosmetologist and working in the industry for 31 years. I began my career working in the salon. After being in the salon for 15 years, I worked in Skin Care for a Cosmetic Surgeon for 3 years, then began teaching. This is my 13th year as a Cosmetology Instructor, but 2nd year at MVCTC. I also coached JV/Varsity Cheerleading for ten years during that time. I enjoy spending time with my family above anything else, but my other hobbies include Photography as well as watching and attending all types of sporting events, especially baseball.”
“My name is Maria Brewer, and I live in Bradford with my husband of 25 years, Jason. I currently serve on the Board of Education at Upper Valley Career Center and at Bradford Exempted Village Schools. I have 3 Daughters and 3 beautiful Grandkids with one on the way. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and enjoy spending time at the lake fishing, cooking, sunbathing, and boating. When I am not at the lake or with the family, I enjoy volunteering at our community center and helping those in need. This is my fourth year at MVCTC, and I love my students and job more and more every year. If you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work.”
“My name is Abbie Hartman, and I live in Tipp City with my husband, Mike, and my two daughters, Avery (3) and Brynlee (1). I graduated from The MVCTC dental assisting program in 2009 and always knew I wanted to make my way back and become the instructor. I have worked in the dental field since my junior year in high school, and have been the dental assisting instructor here since 2015. Before MVCTC, I worked at WPAFB assisting the Chief of Periodontics. I was humbled to work on our service men and women, and I will forever cherish that experience. I enjoy working with our students in CTSO events. My students have taught me more than I could have ever imagined and I am blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion with future generations!”
