MVCTC Future Health Professionals Advance to National Competition

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) HOSA Senior and Junior Chapters competed in the HOSA State Competition on April 9-10, 2019, in Columbus.  The following MVCTC students qualified for the National HOSA Competition in June of 2019 in Orlando.

The Parliamentary Procedure team placed first.   Team members include Marissa Bixler (Medical Lab Assisting student from Vandalia Butler), Emily Bushong (Medical Lab Assisting student from Northmont), Nicole Castle (Medical Lab Assisting student from Valley View), Chloe Fuller (Medical Lab Assisting student from Arcanum), Jessica Janecek (Medical Lab Assisting student from Twin Valley South), Taryn Pollock (Medical Lab Assisting student from Twin Valley South), Allexus Rachelson (Medical Lab Assisting student from Vandalia Butler), Melina Valdivia-Plascencia (Medical Lab Assisting student from Vandalia Butler)

The Public Health Emergency Preparedness team placed second. Team members include Areun Foster (Health Careers student from Trotwood Madison), Justyce Isreal (Health Careers student from Northridge), Marcedes Leonard (Health Careers student from Trotwood Madison), Megan Rinderle (Health Careers student from Versailles), Camryn Rivero (Health Careers student from Eaton), and Amari Waters (Health Careers student from Wayne)

Kasie Durham, Health Careers student from Bethel, placed 2nd in the CPR/FA

Makenna Floyd, Allied Health student from Bethel, placed 2nd in the Medical Spelling

Brooklynn McFadden, Medical Lab Assisting student from Huber Heights, placed 2nd in the Life Support Skills

Kara Petitt, Health Careers student from Dixie, placed 3rd in the Life Support Skills

Melaney Stewart, Health Careers student from Northmont, placed 2nd in the CPR/FA

Chloe Wilson, Dental Assistant student from West Carrollton, placed 3rd in the Dental Science

Logan Sizemore, Health Careers student from Eaton, is currently an Ohio HOSA State Officer and is a HOSA National Officer Candidate

Emma Lehman, Biotechnology student from Milton-Union, and Katelyn Woodruff, Pre-Nursing student from Northmont, were elected as Ohio HOSA Officers for the 2019-2020 school year.

Mr. Jon McGreevey, MVCTC Supervisor, was recognized for being an Outstanding Administrator Supporting HOSA Future Health Professionals.
