Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) senior Sydney Boman was recognized at the December 10, 2019, Northmont Rotary meeting as the Student of the Month. Sydney is a senior from Northmont in the MVCTC Precision Machining program and is the daughter of James and Christina Larson.
MVCTC Superintendent, Dr. Nick Weldy, presented Sydney with a plaque at the lunch meeting. Sydney is currently an MVCTC Pre-Apprenticeship student working for Starwin Industries.
Sydney was nominated for this award by her MVCTC Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Tracy Hetrick. Mrs. Hetrick stated, “Sydney is the 'go-to' person in Precision Machining lab because she is trustworthy, works hard, follows directions, and follows the rules. Sydney has maintained a 4.0 GPA at MVCTC. She has taken College Credit Plus (CCP) classes while attending MVCTC, and plans to pursue an associate's degree in Computer-Aided Manufacturing/Precision Machining at Sinclair Community College.”
