Diesel Power Technologies students Jacob Prasuhn (senior from Ansonia), Eyan Hackler (junior from Ansonia), and Owen Stephens (junior student from Arcanum-Butler) placed 2nd in the FFA District Ag Mechanic Skills Career and Leadership Development Event (CDE). As a result, the team qualified to compete at the State contest on April 8, 2022, in Wooster at OSU/ATI.
Through Career and Leadership Development Events, participating FFA members in grades 7 to 12 are challenged to develop critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills, foster teamwork, and promote communication while recognizing the value of ethical competition and individual achievement. CDE and LDE events occur at the local, state, and national levels.
For the Ag Mechanic Skills CDE, students measure with micrometers, dial calipers, check wire looms with digital multimeters, weld, identify fluids, solder, and much more to qualify for the State CDE.
