Congratulations to the Natural Resource Management senior team on their 1st Place Finish at the Greene County/Montgomery County Envirothon! Team members include Kat Granato (Milton-Union), Anja Hubers (Miamisburg), Hunter Mills (Franklin Monroe), and Sandy Turner (Northmont).
MVCTC Natural Resource Management instructor, Mr. Joe Beringer, shared, "The team performed skills and took tests in various outdoor environmental education areas including Aquatic Ecology, Soil Science, Wildlife Management, Forest Ecology, and Current Events. The team will move on to compete at the western Ohio regional contest in Bellefontaine on April 26. Way to go!"
The junior Natural Resource Management Team of Gracie Gau (Northmont), Austin Kosier (Tri-Village), Mitchell McFall (Northmont), and Hunter Smart (Northmont)placed second.
The Envirothon is a competitive, academic, outdoor team event for high school students. It tests knowledge in Aquatic Ecology, Current Environmental Issues, Forestry, Soils, and Wildlife while promoting interest in our natural resources and encouraging cooperative decision making, team building, and problem-solving. The event is designed to stimulate and reinforce student interest in the environment and natural resource management.
