Important Information for 2022-2023 School Year

Welcome back!

We are very excited for the start of this school year!

Junior Orientation Day is Thursday, August 11, 2022. Only junior students and any new senior students will be on campus this day.

MVCTC’s returning seniors will join our incoming juniors starting on Friday, August 12, 2022.

Here is some information to help you with your first day as an MVCTC student!

Transportation

Our 27 partner school districts provide transportation for students attending their district to MVCTC. Please contact the school district you live in if you have questions about bus pick-ups and drop-offs.
If your partner school district is not in session but MVCTC is in session, you should consult your partner school to verify transportation arrangements. You are expected to attend the MVCTC even though your partner school is not in session. If you are not in attendance at the MVCTC under these situations you be given an unexcused absence(s).

Drop-off/Pick-up

If you are heading south on Hoke road, parent drop-off at MVCTC is accessed by turning left at the first traffic light in front of MVCTC and following the signs. If you are heading north on Hoke road, parent drop-off at MVCTC is accessed by turning right at the second traffic light in front of MVCTC and following the signs.
Classes at MVCTC begin at 8:05 am and end at 2:30 pm. Students should arrive at MVCTC no earlier than 7:30 am.

First Day Schedule

Report to your Career Program Lab first thing in the morning on the first day only. Career technical instructors will have a copy of the most up-to-date school schedule.
After picking up your schedule report to your 1st-period class by 8:05 am.
MVCTC Staff and Student Ambassadors will be in the hallways to help you find your classrooms.

Dress Code

The school dress code WILL BE in effect starting on August 11. Please familiarize yourself with what is expected in the MVCTC Student Handbook on pages 24-25. (The Student Handbook is available online under the Current Students Tab http://www.mvctc.com/current-students/general-information).

Parking Passes

Parking passes will be sold once all student IDs are distributed, usually the 2nd or 3rd week of school. Until then, you may park in student parking lots without a parking pass but must still follow the parking guidelines outlined in the MVCTC Student Handbook, pages 29-30.

Food Service

Our breakfast and lunch are prepared and served by Northmont Food Service. Should you have questions or need assistance, please contact Jordan Greve, Food Service Director, at 937-832-5055 or Janet Geiger, Administrative Assistant, at 937-832-5059.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued waivers to child nutrition programs across the country allowing schools to offer free meals to students. For the past two years, Northmont Food Service and MVCTC has been able to take advantage of these waivers and provide free breakfast and lunch to all of our students.
These waivers expired on June 30, 2022. As a result, child nutrition programs nationwide will be returning to pre-pandemic operations. MVCTC students will once again be asked to complete and submit a Free/Reduced Meal Application in order to qualify for assistance for the 2022-23 school year.
Meal prices are $1.90 for breakfast ($0.30 for reduced-price students) and $3.00 for lunch ($0.40 for reduced-price students). MVCTC students have numerous breakfast, lunch and a la carte options daily. To review our menus go to www.mvctc.com/school-lunch
Parents can access PaySchools Central to manage all of their students' account information, view transaction history, set up recurring payments, create spending limits/restrictions, set up low-balance alerts, apply for free/reduced priced meals, and more. We highly encourage parent interaction with this payment software. Money can still be added to a student's account through cash or check in person in the cafeteria
According to the school's charging policy, students will not be allowed to charge any items in the cafeteria. Parents can subscribe to low-balance notifications through PaySchools Central.
Complete a Free/Reduced Meal Application. Free/reduced meal applications can be completed online. You must register a student account with PaySchools Central in order to fill out the application online. Once the account is set up and you are logged in, locate the menu dropdown icon on the dashboard and select the Free/Reduced Meal Application option. Then follow the instructions on the screen. You are responsible for any charges incurred before your application is approved, so complete it early. Additional information can be found at www.mvctc.com/school-lunch.
If you do not have access to a computer, you can receive a Free/Reduced Meal Application in the serving line. If you participated in the free and reduced meal program at your current school, you will need to complete a new application in order to participate in the program at MVCTC.

Fee Payments

MVCTC’s student fees can be found on our website at www.mvctc.com/fees. Select the tab labeled “2023 or 2024 Grad Individual Program Fees” and scroll down to find your program, To access the online payment system, visit www.mvctc.com/fees and select “Pay Fees (EZPay).”
When making a payment, you will need a student ID number. This number is located on your acceptance letter and will also be located on your class schedule.
Payment can also be made by mailing a check or money order to: MVCTC, Attn: Cashier, 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, OH 45315. All checks should be payable to: Miami Valley CTC. In addition to the online payment and mail options, payments can be made by phone using a credit card. We accept MasterCard, VISA, and Discover. To make a payment over the phone, please call MVCTC Cashier, Sharon Bergman, at (937) 854-6286.

Emergency Medical Authorization

All students are required to have an Emergency Medical Authorization on file each school year. You will be able to complete the authorization at www.mvctc.com/emf/ beginning Monday, August 1 and it must be completed by Friday, August 19.
