MVCTC SkillsUSA Chapter 4 Meeting a Success!

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) SkillsUSA Chapter IV meeting was a success!

The meeting took place in the new MVCTC Multi-Purpose Activity Center.  Juniors and seniors from Construction Carpentry, Electrical Trades, Heavy Equipment, and HVAC all attended.

Student ambassadors Makayla Horrigan (Electrical Trades/Preble Shawnee) and Mallorie Maxwell (Construction Carpentry/Northmont) were able to welcome and introduce students to SkillsUSA.

The meeting started off with the welcome, the reading of the emblem, and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Followed with announcement of our guest speaker from Garber Electrical Contractors, Mark Penny. 

Mr. Penny is an MVCTC alumnus from Electrical Trades.  He talked about Garber Electrical Contractors and what they have to offer employees. To conclude the meeting a SkillsUSA framework video and previous competition video were both shown leading up to the dismissal.

MVCTC SkillsUSA Chapter IV Advisors are Ron Kauffman and Kelly Kramer.

SkillsUSA Chapter IV is one of five Career Technical Student Organizations at MVCTC.

For 50 years, MVCTC has provided career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties, including Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties.
