MVCTC Honors Veterans 2022

11/11/2022

The MVCTC students and staff took time during the week of November 7, 2022, to honor local veterans.

FCCLA started the week with our very own Mrs. Bissey, an Army Veteran, speaking of her time serving in the Middle East as an Army Nurse.

Media & Video Production students created a moving video to educate others on Veterans Day and to honor our local veterans.

Cosmetology and Culinary Arts teamed up to provide free salon services and desserts to veterans.

Criminal Justice seniors were honored to help the Brookville Police Department, Perry Township Police Department, and Clay Township Police Department to serve lunch to veterans at Rob's Restaurant in Brookville on Friday, November 11.

The entire senior class was able to hear the moving account of Mr. Ira Segalewitz.   Mr. Segalewitz, a Holocaust survivor and United States veteran of the Korean Conflict, gave an exceptional presentation. He shared his harrowing experiences during World War II and how he and his mother survived extraordinary situations. He asked students to remember these three things at the end of his very moving presentation, "1) Don't be a bystander. If you see something wrong, report it. 2) Bad things happen in life, and you move on. 3) Learn, learn, learn! Get a good education, continue your education, and always do your best."
