The MVCTC Drones & GIS Technologies program was awarded a grant for Aerial Drone competition equipment and drones through the REC Foundation. The program received three CoDrone EDU programmable racing drones and obstacle course equipment for training. Students compete by next spring in a regional Aerial Drone competition to qualify for the grant. The students will compete in teams of three to test their drone programming and flying skills in various competition settings.
Drones & GIS Technologies instructor Amy Sugden stated, "We are so excited to be awarded this grant! It has allowed us to get experience on additional drones and equipment and will allow us to compete against other students to see how our skills measure up."
Students in the Drones & GIS Technologies junior class include Tyler Scherer (Miami East), Terrian Boling (Trotwood), Chris Bradley (Northridge), Daniel Combs (Wayne), Isaiah Ares (Tipp City), Aviram Schuman (Brookville), James McElroy (Twin Valley South), Khalil Hood (Northmont), Jayden Gambrel (Horizon Science Academy)
