Englewood, Ohio - March 14, 2024—The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) FFA celebrated FFA Week with the Ag Olympics. Combining fun and competition, the Ag Olympics showcased the talents of FFA members in various agricultural-themed games.
The event featured a series of challenges, including the Hay Bale Toss, Find the Needle in the Haystack, Relay Race, Ag Headbands, Nutstacker, Pin the Tail on the Pig, and Piston Putt Putt. FFA labs participated in these friendly competitions, vying to win exciting FFA prizes.
In addition to the spirited games, FFA demonstrated its commitment to community support by raising approximately $200 for the Alumni Association. Students generously donated a dollar each, with the opportunity to vote for which instructor would kiss Pippy the Pig. Mr. Shuman, the Diesel Power Technologies Instructor, emerged as the victor from the Junior Ag Olympics, while Mr. Hershburger was honored by the Senior Ag Olympics.
The MVCTC FFA Officers expressed, "Thank you to the officers, instructors, and students for an AG-mazing day!"
The MVCTC FFA Advisors Joe Beringer, Christy Blauvelt, Rebecca Carman, Bill Hershberger, Christa Nealeigh, Nick Shuman, and Eva Wiley did a great job organizing the events for the students.
