Englewood, Ohio - April 18, 2024 - The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) is proud to announce the exceptional achievements of senior Joseph Latvala from Valley View High School. Joseph has been recognized for his outstanding academic accomplishments, exemplary leadership skills, and professional demeanor.
Joseph has been awarded the Technology First Scholarship with a $750 reward. This scholarship program, spearheaded by the Technology First Board of Directors, aims to raise awareness among college students about the flourishing technology sector in the Miami Valley region. Joseph's involvement in this program is expected to provide him with invaluable insights into the diverse career opportunities available in the local tech industry.
In addition to the Technology First Scholarship, Joseph has also been named a recipient of the 2024 MVCTC Superintendent Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to two outstanding seniors each year.
Furthermore, Joseph's success in his Computer Coding & Web Applications career-technical program has been demonstrated through his impressive performance in the BPA Ohio Competition for Python Programming, where he secured 2nd place in the state. He has earned the opportunity to compete at the National BPA Conference in Chicago, IL, scheduled for May 10-14, 2024.
