Indianapolis, IN – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) main campus FFA chapter and 15 Agricultural Education FFA satellite programs attended the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo, celebrating student accomplishments and engaging in educational experiences. Students participated in keynote sessions, visited local agricultural sites, and several received FFA's highest accolades.
The American FFA Degree, the organization's highest level of student achievement, was awarded to the following MVCTC FFA members for their dedication to agricultural education:
Arcanum-Butler MVCTC FFA
Under the guidance of advisor Brian Pohlman, the chapter proudly celebrated Landon Haney, who was named an American Star in Agribusiness for his outstanding accomplishments with his business, Haney's Mowing and Landscaping, LLC. This prestigious award honors FFA members who excel in supervised agricultural experience (SAE) projects.
Miami East MVCTC FFA
Advisor Marie Carity highlighted the chapter's success in earning the Three-Star National Chapter Award, FFA's highest chapter rating. Miami East's chapter was proud to have multiple American Degree recipients and two National Proficiency Finalists, Braden Zekas in Agricultural Processing and Fletcher Harris in Turf Grass Management. Bill Mote was awarded the Honorary American FFA Degree for his significant contributions to FFA at various levels.
Miamisburg MVCTC FFA
Advisor Tia Louiso shared that keynote addresses from Dr. Temple Grandin and National FFA Secretary Grant Norfleet inspired her students. The group also visited MVP Dairy in Celina and Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield, Indiana, enriching their agricultural knowledge.
Milton-Union MVCTC FFA
Advisor Suzanne Kimball and Milton-Union FFA students were inspired by keynote speakers and enjoyed visiting the Indianapolis Zoo and Trader's Point Creamery.
Mississinawa Valley MVTC FFA
Under the direction of advisor Carmen Hartzell, Mississinawa Valley FFA was awarded the Three-Star National Chapter distinction. Daniel Hartzell represented Ohio as a voting delegate and presented the colors at the convention.
National Trail MVCTC FFA
Advisors Carmen & Eric Kennel were pleased to report that National Trail's chapter earned a Three-Star National Chapter Award.
Twin Valley South MVCTC FFA
The chapter, led by advisor Alison Derringer, celebrated Ryan McRill recognized as a National Proficiency Finalist in Swine Production. Twin Valley South received a Three-Star National Chapter Award.
