MVCTC Students Earn Top Honors at 2025 Ohio HOSA State Leadership Conference

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) students demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skills at the 2025 Ohio HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference, held April 9-10 in Toledo, Ohio. The event brought together hundreds of students from across the state to compete in a variety of health science and leadership events.

Several MVCTC students earned high placements in their respective competitions, showcasing the rigorous training and preparation they receive through their career-technical programs.

  • Rachel Luebke (Medical Lab Assisting / Valley View) First Place in the Clincial Lab Science Contest
  • Makayla Carmack (Medical Lab Assisting / Milton-Union) First Place in the Life Support Skills Contest
  • Antonio Duran (Health Occupations / Tipp City) and Jacob Balcom (Medical Lab Assisting / Brookville - Second Place in the Public Health Contest
  • Parliamentary Pro Team of Emily Baker (Biotechnology / West Carrollton), Ethan Cross (Biotechnology / Eaton), Katie Ferguson (Biotechnology / Miami East), Brooke Giggy (Medical Lab Assisting / Kettering-Fairmont), Alyssa Rachelson (Medical Lab Assisting / Brookville), Ja'Niya Riley ( Medical Lab Assisting / West Carrollton), and Kaitlyn Muterspaw (Medical Lab Assisting / Huber Heights) Second Place
  • Jazmin Ortiz-Llapa (Medical Lab Assisting / West Carrollton) Third Place in the Life Support Skills Contest

MVCTC students prepared for these competitive events through classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and extracurricular leadership opportunities in their HOSA chapters.
