Englewood, Ohio - Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electrical Trades senior student, Ben Deaton (New Lebanon), was awarded the sixth annual Jonathan Fultz Memorial Scholarship. This award honors the memory of Jonathan Fultz, a 1987 graduate from Preble Shawnee High School and Montgomery County Joint Vocational School (presently MVCTC) Electrical Trades program. Jonathan began his career as an apprentice electrician with the Wagner-Smith Company after high school and achieved the status of Project Manager before his death in July 2008. His mother, Mrs. Helen Fultz, and his brother, Mr. Dan Fultz, in order to honor Jonathan’s memory and to assist an MVCTC Electrical Trades student with the total payment of lab fees, established this award.
The goal is to make this a perpetuating award, to be given to a student in the MVCTC Electrical Trades program who has met the following criteria of having a 2.5 GPA or higher, 95% attendance rate, and on track for graduation with no credit deficiencies and have passed all parts of the OGT. Anyone wishing to contribute to this award may send a check to MVCTC, Attn: Mrs. Debbie Gossett, Treasurer, 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, Ohio 45315. Please make a note on the memo line indicating that the check is for the Jonathan Fultz Memorial Award.
