Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter held their 8th Annual Boot Camp on Tuesday, November 10, in honor of Veterans Day. The BPA Boot Camp consists of an obstacle course with four different challenges, including the meetings lowest belly crawl to date.
Prior to the meeting, a small group of musicians from the Junior Computer Network Engineering Program played a number of patriotic songs for the arriving classes. The meeting started off with the National Anthem and the presentation of the Flag by MVCTC’s own Air Force Junior ROTC program. Both junior and senior classes competed against one another to win the coveted chapter trophy.
Between ’heats’, the BPA Officers shared presentations and videos commemorating both Boot Camp and the U.S. Military, including a feature about military dependent families, the playing of “Stars and Stripes Forever”. Also featured between competitive rounds was the building and explaining of the Business Professionals of America Emblem. After several intense rounds, the trophy went to the Sports Management and Marketing Class for the second year in a row.

BPA is a national student organization that serves Business and Information Technology students. Members participate in activities that promote leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. MVCTC students in the career technical programs of Business Ownership, Computer Networking Engineering, Computer Repair & Technical Support, Game Programming & Web Applications, Media and Video Production, Medical Office Management, and Sports Management and Marketing participate in BPA.
