Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) seniors Ali Pompeii and Austin Pearce were recognized at the April 12, Northmont Rotary meeting as the Students of the Month. Austin is a senior from Northmont in the MVCTC Computer Network Engineering program and Ali is a senior from Northmont in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program. Both students were to have been recognized at meetings earlier in the year that were cancelled due to weather issues.
Each students was presented a plaque by MVCTC Superintendent, Dr. Nick Weldy and asked to share their future plans. Austin will be attending The Ohio State University next year majoring in Computer Science and Ali will be majoring in Aerospace Engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA (Cal-Poly).
Austin is the son of Bret and Michelle Pearce of Dayton and Ali is the daughter of Mario and Barbara Pomepii of Dayton.
For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio. MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
